I received this word on November 21, 2020  There is a darkness over the land that has ensnared the hearts of the people.  There is despair and fear and many minds have been manipulated by lies. I am RIGHTING all of this, the evil agendas in the hearts of wicked men will be exposed. The secret despicable acts done in darkness will be revealed. For I am the Lord your God. I will rain down judgement on those who have acted wickedly and justice will reign. There is coming a time for joy and celebration, just as my people celebrated when Haman’s plot was revealed and he hung on his own gallows.  The despair that has gripped peoples hearts will be turned to dancing.  I will reveal myself to many and they will be captivated by my love and my hand of deliverance. I love the dramatic story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal at Mount Carmel and I see a few parallels with what is happening today! Firstly King Ahab accuses Elijah for the problems the nation is facing and Elijah responds that it is Ahab and his family who have caused trouble by forsaking the commandments of the Lord and following Baal, a god. He calls for the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of the goddess of Asherah to meet at Mount Carmel. Elijah addresses the people and asks how long they will linger between two opinions. If the Lord is God worship Him but if it is Baal, follow him. The people are silent! Then two alters are built, one by the prophets of Baal, and one by Elijah. They will both call out to the Baal and to the Lord and the One who answers by fire, let Him be God The prophets of Baal prepared the alter and called from morning til noon and there was no fire. Hosea was called by God as a prophet to the northern kingdom of Israel at a time when they had turned to Baal and turned away from the Lord.  Instead of pure worship they were dabbling in magic and using shrine prostitutes! They were worshiping idols carved by their own hands!  Rather than heed Hosea’s words they mocked him.  We learn that the Lord turns His back on the priests for misleading the people...... While the charges against Israel aren’t the same as we face today since the Holy Spirit, who leads us into truth, isn’t welcome in many churches I sense the Lord would say the same thing.  His people as weak, tired , discouraged as they’ve listened to sermons that tickle their ears rather than convict their hearts! They’ve sought after the next popular marketing program rather than be led by the spirit.  The ABCs of Attendance, buildings and cash have replaced the only thing necessary which is the Holy Spirit!
