Be Your Own Health Advocate Step 3: Rest & Manage Stress

Image
The third foundation of a wellness lifestyle is to make sure you are getting adequate sleep and managing your stress levels. Adequate sleep would require 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. How are you doing?  In today’s society, and even pre Covid 19, we were pretty much constantly stressed, our fight or flight mode was always turned on, but now it’s even worse. We are living in a society where people have to use an app just to slow down and take deep breaths. After a stressful situation e that would initiate a fright or flight response our stress’s levels would decrease once we removed ourself from the stressful situation, but in modern society that is rare. Resulting in individuals living in a constant state of stress. Negative emotions left unchecked will result in physical dis-ease

Be Your Own Health Advocate- Step 2: Exercise

The second step of a wellness lifestyle is exercise. We all know that we should be moving our bodies every single day but do you realize that if you’re not getting thirty minutes of daily exercise that your lymphatic system is not working to its best ability! Also,  it’s your lymphatic system that is responsible for detoxing you’re body through elimination and sweat. It’s really important to get a good sweat on and so I highly recommend exercising daily (although since the gym has closed I haven’t been as diligent, but it was understanding how my lymphatic system works that motivated me to invest in a gym membership last year) also, hitting a sauna if you can to sweat out some of those toxins is really beneficial to your health. Thanks to my amazing instructors and gym buddies who’ve encouraged me over the last year! #holisticallyunleashed #exercise #sweatitout #detox

Be Your Own Health Advocate Step 1: Eating Right

Being your own health advocate! It begins with some simple steps to take responsibility for you and your family’s health It starts with making a decision to embrace a lifestyle of wellness that includes some basic things that most of us know We call it the wellness triangle and it includes a few different levels. The first one is eating right.  It includes making healthy choices concerning what you put in your body, eating nutrition foods - increasing your water intake, eating fresh organic produce, or growing your own. As most of our soil is stripped from vital nutrients and minerals, It ultimately means supplementation to give your body the building blocks it needs to heal itself.
