Peace in the Storm Part II

 



“One day he got into a boat with his disciples, and he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” So they set out,”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:22‬ ‭ESV‬

One time Jesus told his disciples, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” While they were crossing the lake a storm started and the disciples were fearful for their lives. They woke Jesus, who was sleeping peacefully and he rebuked the storm and chastised them for their lack of faith!

2020 has certainly been a storm for most of the world but when we headed into this year, I believe the words of Jesus were just like the words he spoke to the disciples.  Let’s go to the other side of the lake! He knew what was coming and yet was able to be at rest in the midst of it! That is the invitation He has for all of us. 

I pray that these words will encourage you to not be fearful as you pass through the storm.

My Child

There is peace in my presence.

Peace that protects you and that enables you to trust as you go through any storm. Even as the disciples fell into fear in the storm on lake, Jesus was sleeping soundly- resting in me.

When you fully trust me and know that I have good things in store for you, you will see that I can use ALL things in your life to purify and refine you to the image of my son.

When you reflect my glory and shine brightly, brighter than the stars on a cloudless night. 

When your mind falls into fear and doubt, by not casting every thought down that sets itself up against the knowledge of me, you lose my peace. 

When you allow comparison to creep in, you lose my peace.

When you replay lies from your past.... hurtful words that have been spoken over you that you have accepted as truth, you lose my peace.

Those doubt and fears become like the clouds that cover the brightness of the sun, or the starry wonder of the night sky. 

I created you to shine brightly,

To walk with me daily.

To hear my voice.

As you do this, spending time in my Presence, 

I will replace the lies with truth,

I will replace your fears with faith,

I will replace your doubt with confidence

And you will truly display my glory.

Let’s go to the other side and know that I am with you!

Know that you also have the authority, just as Jesus did, to rebuke the storm!

Rise up and step out in faith!

Encouraging Prayer

The Lord gave me this prayer for a friend several years ago, but I want to encourage all my sisters with it. Father I ask for you to give my sister revelatory knowledge from your heart to hers for your plan. As she diligently seeks you, will you draw near to her and lead her. Give her wisdom and favor and every resource she needs to complete the work you have called her to do. Shower your blessings upon her. May you continue to draw people into her life who you have drawn to you. May she continue to water the thirsty, feed the hungry and give hope to those when there is no hope. Will you pour out your spirit into her life more powerfully than ever before. Will you drench her so that she will have an endless supply to give. May she be right in the center of your will, for that is the safest place. May you receive all the glory for all that you do In her life. selah!

SOUL HEALING

Progress! I have eluded to the fact that what is happening to my home is paralleling what is happening in my soul! The peeling paint (wounds from past hurts, often related to father wounds) The worn siding - hope deferred, disappointment, broken promises The rotten wood - unforgiveness, bitterness (I was totally blind to this) But He makes all things N E W. Just as you can’t put new siding on top of old wood, the lord wants to bring us to completely wholeness. His word says in 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually]. Do you get that connection? We prosper and are In health as our soul prospers. So if we are harboring sin (bitterness, resentment, unforgiveness) there is only so much prospering that can happen….. as the accuser in the courts of heaven has legal right until we deal with these areas. David also speaks about this in psalm 24…. About when ...
